Richard Colback, Principal and President – Epic States
Richard Colback has 15 years experience as a strategic consultant with Bain and Company and Booker Tate in Africa, the Middle East, Europe, and the USA. He has previously been involved in start-ups in the sporting goods, transportation services, advertising and manufacturing industries. For the past seven years he has been involved in the sports industry as an advisor and consultant to early stage start-ups and entrepreneurs. He received his MBA from the Anderson School at UCLA. He was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship from the United Kingdom, and was a Management Development for Entrepreneurs Fellow. He received his Masters in Engineering at the University of Southampton in the United Kingdom where he was awarded an Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council scholarship. He is a life-long surfer and was captain of The Anderson Graduate School rugby team. (Additional Language: Spanish)
Karl Backus, Co-Owner and Chief Creative Officer – Blue Horse & Trumpet
Karl has spent the last 15 years working on brand development and communication strategies for companies ranging from Siemens to Glen Ellen Wineries, from Yahoo! to small startups in a variety of markets. He gained his experience working for established agencies – J Walter Thompson, The Laurel Group, matthews/mark.
Todd Backus, Director of Communications – Blue Horse & Trumpet
Todd has been involved in technology and marketing for the last decade and represented a number of start-ups from the Silicon Valley and southern California for Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide and Blue Horse & Trumpet. Currently, he is heavily engaged in tracking and improving the engagement of audiences and brand conversations through traditional PR and social channels. (Additional Language: Spanish)
Jose Florez – Owner and Founder – Happy Mundo
Jose has run and managed advertising and marketing campaigns for companies involved in business in Spain, South and Central America.
Chun Li
Chun has spent last eight years in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and venture capital industries and has experience as a strategic consultant working with RFID technologies. She received her MBA from the Anderson School of Management at the University of California Los Angeles, where she focused on technology management and marketing and led a variety of entrepreneurial programs. Lucile Reysset
Lucile has been involved in marketing and communication strategies for a wide range of companies including Sephora. IKEA, Vinci Group, Credit Agricole Bank, Spie Communications and Decathlon in Europe, and The Los Angeles Kings, LA Clippers, and USA Track and Field Foundation in the USA. Her expertise is in Customer Relations Management projects and she received her Master in Business (MBA) from the French Business School, “Institut de Commerce et Distribution” in Paris. Morgan Brown
Morgan works at the intersection of technology and marketing to create value for consumers and companies. His social media focus is on content creation, content distribution and online marketing. He is an early adopter of social media platforms that works with our clients to create measurable value for customers and companies through honest use of technology and marketing.
Adriana Pinzon
Adriana has a broad range of experience of working in the financial industry in the USA and Europe. She completed a Bsc in Economics from UCLA and focused in integration of social media into the Hispanic and family markets.
